Beneath the Badge is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and youth in schools. Our vision involves actively working to change the mindset of our youth, and reduce fears of the presence of law enforcement.
Making a Difference in Schools
Our Goal
Our goal is to serve as an after school program at a socioeconomically disadvantaged elementary school. We are expecting to host 1 school during the Fall 2017 school year as an after school program. Beneath the Badge focus is to have local law enforcement officers volunteer to develop and teach youth: about their rights as youth, the law as is may apply to them, tutorials, and to mentor special individuals. As social servants, we understand the importance and need for building relationship in our schools, in order to serve the whole child.

Tabitha Hendricks
Tabitha is an enthusiastic community supporter and educator. She has 10 years of experience working in Education and experience teaching in low socioeconomic title 1 schools. Throughout her years in Education, she has developed after-school programs and leadership clubs to support more student involvement. Tabitha has a Bachelors in Social Work from Texas A&M University- Commerce, and a Masters in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. Tabitha believes with partnership from law enforcement we can improve the lives and mindset of our youth.

Kim Bowie
Kim is a passionate Educator with a mission of teaching the whole child. Kim has 9 years of experience teaching in the public education system. During this journey, Kim has worked primarily in low socioeconomic schools and has worked hard to develop a leader in every seat. Kim earned her Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She is a mom, sister and daughter. Kim strongly believes that bridging the gap in every area of a child's life is essential for their success.
